Coach Baron helps Dragon Tennis program close the door on 2012 campaign. Both squads were #1 seeds for Division II at this year's year-end tournament. The boys ran into match up challenges in the 1st and 2nd rounds, falling both times by a close 2-3 score. "Our strength was in the mainly in the doubles, and their strength was mainly in the singles" said Coach Baron, "I'm definitely proud of the way we battled no matter the situation". The boys were resilient as always and bounced back to win the 3rd and final round and take home the last match of the season by a 4-1 margin. The girls did just the opposite by winning their 1st round match easily 5-0 and then falling to a very tough 2nd round opponent by a score of 2-3. "It was very intense as both rounds 2 and 3 came down to the 5th and deciding match with the scores tied at 2-2," said Coach Baron, "and I was very proud of how the girls competed down to the final shot". The Lady Dragons could not pull out the last match falling by a 2-3 margin, but ended up with a 4th place finish thanks to their first round win. "I was very blessed to have had the opportunity to work with and assist the dragon tennis program to another fine season. They represented their team, their coaches, and their school proudly" said Coach Baron.
Coach Baron attends annual USPTA Conference Feb 9 - 12, 2012. The conference was really worthwhile. I got to see and talk to some of my favorite vendors at the buying show, talk best practices with my tennis peers and listen and learn from some great speakers with practical information that I can use immediately to help my clients improve faster and enjoy the game of tennis more! Really glad I went since I hadn't been for a couple of years.
